An Intimate Date Night at Madre

Tucked away inside the Franklin Guesthouse in Greenpoint, Brooklyn is Madre. This romantic restaurant is tastefully decorated with modern decor, lots of plants, and huge windows - the perfect setting to snap your dining experience with your special someone! Their outdoor dining space also provides a cozy atmosphere for you to enjoy your dinner, dessert, and bottle of wine (or two!) with the one you love.

The globally inspired menu rotates, but my suggestion would be to trust your server. The entire staff is super knowledgeable and won’t steer you in the wrong direction. That goes for their drinks, too! They have a deep wine list, a creative cocktail menu (but don't worry, they also nail the classic cocktails as well!), and a sizable spirits offering. After reading the descriptions of both the food and drink menu, you can tell how much thought and care goes into all of the details.

Umami Bomb

One such dish is their Croquetas with Gruyère, Black Truffle, and Vinegar Powder - talk about an umami bomb! In just one bite, the chefs truly pack in so much flavor and leave you going back for croqueta number 2 and 3. Another dish that is a must order item is their Chicken with Potato Salad, Spiced Jus, and Salsa Verde. Chicken seems like a simple dish to make, but for me, is a tell tale sign of a top restaurant when cooked well. The Madre's team perfectly executes this dish - the chicken is super tender and moist, while the skin is crispy and crunchy. Plus, you can never go wrong with a side of potato salad!
